Ashly Photography – Texarkana Photography bio picture

Welcome to my Blog!

Hi and welcome to my blog!  My name is Ashly and I'm a natural light photographer (about 99% of the time anyway!).  I like to think of my style is creative, fresh and real.  I want to capture life as it happens!

This blog is where I'll post sneak peeks from my sessions as well as glimpses into my life (with two boys under the age of 4, there are always photo ops!).  If you have any questions, would like to schedule a session or just want to say hey, please click the contact button.

Thanks for visiting and be sure to stop by now and again to see what I've been up to!

NDHS Jr. ROTC ball…here I come again!!!

I was asked for the THIRD YEAR in a row to photograph NDHS’s Jr. ROTC ball. For all you Texarkanians asking “who is NDHS?” It’s North DeSoto High School which is my high school alma mater and is located in Stonewall, Louisiana. Every year the ball is held at Barksdale Air Force base which is a little intimidating because I have to get special permission to enter, but it’s always alot of fun!! This year their theme is “By the Light of the Moon.” I design the backdrops every year and this year I’m a little stumped on what to do…but hopefully after speaking with one of the cadets I’ll have a better idea. If anybody has a suggestion, feel free to drop me a line! Right now the only thing I can picture is a big crescent moon cutout. We’ll see where that goes! Also, if anybody else is looking for a prom photographer, give me a call! I don’t charge a sitting fee and I’m happy to photograph the dance as well as the formal pictures!!

cannot believe I forgot to post these two!

Two more from my previous session…they were the last shots I took and totally forgot to add them! I absolutly LOVE the first one!

little miss a. – texarkana newborn photographer

I had the pleasure of photographing this tiny little cutie!  She was just under 6 pounds and OH so sweet!  My youngest son is only 14 weeks old and it’s amazing how fast you forget just how little they are starting out.  I captured some of my favorite mom, dad and brother pics in this session.  Thanks so much for allowing me to photograph your little princess!!  (who already has her daddy wrapped around her finger!)

January 11, 2010 - 11:17 pm Shanda - I am in love with the last one. Great work Ashly, you have an awesome talent

the Cearley family

I met this lovely family this past Saturday afternoon. Mom found me online and then made the 45 minute drive for our session. I’m so glad she did!! Miss A. was a petite little girl that did a great job in front of the camera and mom and dad were very easy going and fun to work with! Thank you so much for allowing me to photograph your family!!

December 28, 2009 - 7:49 pm Amber - Very cute family and check out those baby blues! Great session Ashly.

the Griffin family – 3rd year in a row!

I was thrilled when the Griffin’s asked me to photograph them again this year! The last two years we were at places that had lots of fall leaves and grass…we wanted a different look this year, so downtown was perfect! Little Miss was in no mood for pictures and her big brother was happy to strut his stuff!! It’s amazing what a year and a half age difference can make in kiddos! Thank you for asking me to photograph your cute family! Want to see the past two years?

all about a couple

When I met this couple for their session on Saturday, they told me they hadn’t had pictures taken of them since they were married (almost 2 1/2 years ago!!!). Something about they had a hard time getting good pictures taken of them…after photographing them I don’t believe it! HA! They were so easy to work with and I had a hard time narrowing it down because I had so many good ones to choose from!

mom and son

I first met this family last Christmas. I was so happy they asked me to photograph them again this Christmas! It’s always fun seeing the kiddos grow every year. Although last year we were able to get dad in the shots too…this year the session was on the first day of deer season, so all you guys know where he was! I always get the best mom and son shots with them…here’s the one from last year. Love it!!! He’s such a little model!!!

family session

We had this family’s session at their house. They live in a neat little neighborhood with a fabulous brick lined street (reminds me of Natchitoches, LA streets where my alma mater NSU is located!). I knew we had to include it in a few pictures!! They were a blast to work with and Mr. M did so well with the first pictures we took. I didn’t want to post those because his mom has a really creative idea for their Christmas card and just in case they go with that idea I don’t want to spoil it!!

November 18, 2009 - 3:05 pm Kimberly Kyle - Ooo, love those streets! Beautiful family!

sweet little girl…

Check out those baby blues!! I was stoked when I got at least one picture of her looking at me. Ha! She was SO not interested in me or my camera…there were ducks to watch and pine cones to throw. Her parents, grandparents and I had a good time chasing her around Saturday afternoon. And luckily I got one good picture of the whole family together!

November 18, 2009 - 3:06 pm Kimberly Kyle - Aw! Great family session...love that last one too!

Sister session…

My second session on Saturday belonged to these two sisters who were so much fun to work with! I was excited when their mom said she wanted a break from the traditional fall pictures and wanted something with a little more edge. Downtown, funky accessories and “striking a pose”…not a traditional fall picture if you ask me. I hope she loves them as much as I do!!

November 18, 2009 - 3:06 pm Kimberly Kyle - Too fun! They did an awesome job...you too. :-)
